Scott D. Piette, D.O., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and cataract surgeon. He specializes in optimizing visual outcomes for glaucoma patients undergoing combined cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgical (MIGS) procedures, and the latest advances in lens technology for cataract patients. Dr. Piette earned his undergraduate degree from Grand Canyon University and his medical degree from Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed an internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, followed by residency training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Wills Eye Hospital. With a strong focus on glaucoma, he completed a research fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where he was awarded a grant for his study “The Changing Shape of the Optic Nerve Head with Changing Pressures,” and later pursued a clinical fellowship in glaucoma at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, Dr. Piette is an active member of several professional organizations, including the AAO, ACOO-HNS, ARVO, and AOA. He has contributed extensively to academic ophthalmology through presentations and publications, authoring or co-authoring more than 26 articles and research papers.
