What is EVO ICL?
EVO ICL (or EVO) are implantable Collamer lenses used to treat nearsightedness in patients 21-45 years old who are healthy and active. The Collamer lenses are made from biocompatible material that does not induce dry eye syndrome! With UV protection and excellent vision day and night, EVO ICL is an Evolution in Visual Freedom. These are permanent lenses, but removable if necessary and 99.4% of patients say they would have this procedure again.
Procedure and Recovery
- Numbing eye drops are used before beginning your procedure.
- EVO lenses are placed directly behind the iris and in front of the natural lens of your eye.
- Your EVO lens will help the eye to properly focus light onto the retina to create clear distance vision.
- Vision improves immediately.
- Typically, the procedure is performed for both eyes on the same day. It takes about 30 minutes.
Is EVO ICL right for me?
- You are 21-45 years old
- You have moderate to severe nearsightedness, with or without astigmatism
- You are not a LASIK candidate due to thin corneas or dry eyes
- Your contact lens or glasses prescription has not changed for one year (stable refraction)
EVO ICL is NOT right for you if …
- You have glaucoma, uveitis, or are being treated for any other eye conditions
- You are pregnant or nursing
- You are less than 21 years of age
